P.toile is a Berlin based DJ and producer, very active and respected on the local scene, as well as on an international level. Much thanks to the consistent quality of her productions.

She was first introduced to electronic music in 1993 and shortly after that she opened her own record store, "Starbeat", in her hometown Kiel. Parallel to that, she started dj-ing and organizing events on a regular basis. "Groove Complex", the first one, gave her the chance to train her DJ skills, playing alongside international DJ’s in front of big crowds. This experience was important for her national as well as international recognition.

When moving to Paris in 2001 she started working for the record distributor "Discograph" as well as promoting the club-bar "Lizard Lounge" in the heart of Paris. There she met Reynold, who was promoting international artists through his party "Minimal Dancin" at the well known club "Nouveau Casino" in Paris and through his record label "Trenton", where P.toile soon got involved.

Her first releases on Trenton led her to broader recognition and to many contacts with international artists from France, Japan, Canada, Poland, Russia and the USA.

In the beginning of 2006 her heart led her to a more surprising destination: The troubled Lebanon and more precisely Beirut. There she was, and still is, regularly dj-ing. Together with local DJ Jade, owner of the "The Basement" club, she created a series of Red Cross charity events called "To Beirut".

Among the clubs that have hosted this special event are: Berlin’s Watergate, Paris’ Rex Club and London’s The Key. The project has also been supported by artists like: Craig Richards, Tiefschwarz, DJ Hell, Mr. C, M.A.N.D.Y., Oliver Koletzki, Ewan Pearson, Tobi Neumann and other international DJ’s.

Through the years, P.toile’s sound has developed from French house to minimal techno, while funk and soul of the seventies, her main musical roots, still can be heard in her DJ-sets.

P.Toile releases on Trenton, Drehstrom, Gold & Liebe, Channels Recordings, Two Faces, Ostwind, Mothership and Moodmusic. Her productions are especially speaking to a more mature and music conscious audience, with productions ranging from down-tempo, to up-lifting minimal techno, via airy emotional house, always spiced up with some funk.

Her debut "Sticklip EP" with remixes of pan/tone and Frank Martiniq immediately reached the top 50 of Groove Magazine. The EP, "Migration", on Channels Recordings, containing remixes by Koljah and Marcin Czubala, was released in the fall of 2008. As well there was a remix for the Dubai label Fantasize in cooperation with her production partner Tigerskin and her Beirut-friends Jade & Diamond Setter.

In the beginning of 2009, P.toile had her first release on the German label Ostwind Ltd and gave a follow-up to her last release on Claude von Stroke’s label Mothership. Coming up in August 2009 is a P.toile remix on Thugfucker’s track "Seratonin" for Moodmusic.

Along with her work as producer and DJ, P.toile is having a monthly residency on Proton Radio, an L.A. based webradio station for quality underground music. On Proton’s Radio show "Noice!", she’s also hosting a podcast series called "The Perfect Circle". Beside her own contributions to this series she’s inviting guest artists on a regular basis. P.toile ist eine DJane und Produzentin aus Berlin und zugleich eine Frau die ihr Leben dem internationalen Gedanken verschrieben hat. In Kiel kommt sie 1993 über ihren langjährigen Freund Till von Sein zur elektronischen Musik und eröffnet einen eigenen Recordstore mit dem Namen "Starbeat". Zeitgleich organisiert sie "Groove Complex", eine Veranstaltungsreihe auf der sie regelmäßig selbst als DJ auftritt und sich überregional einen guten Namen macht. 2001 zieht sie nach Paris und übernimmt das Booking für die Lizzard Lounge, einer industriell angehauchten Bar im Herzen der Stadt.

Hier trifft sie Reynold, der auf seinem Plattenlabel "Trenton" minimal- elektronische Musik von Künstlern aus Frankreich veröffentlicht. In Berlin angekommen, wächst das Label ab 2005 zunehmend zu einer internationalen Plattform für Künstler aus Deutschland, Frankreich, Japan, Kanada, Italien, Polen, Russland und den USA heran. Stellt man sich dieses Netzwerk als Landkarte vor, liegt ein weiterer Dreh- und Angelpunkt etwas unerwartet im Krisenherd Libanon, genauer gesagt in der Hauptstadt Beirut. Hier lebt und arbeitet DJ Jade, der Betreiber des Technoclubs "The Basement", mit dem sie in regelmäßigen Abständen Charity-Events zugunsten des Roten Kreuz im Libanon veranstaltet. Bisherige Stationen der Reihe waren Berlin (Watergate), Paris (Rex Club), sowie London (The Key). Das Projekt fand mit Musikern wie Craig Richards, Tiefschwarz, DJ Hell, Mr. C, M.A.N.D.Y., Oliver Koletzki, Ewan Pearson, Tobi Neumann und vielen anderen massiven Support aus der internationalen Szene.

Weitere Veranstaltungen sind bereits in Planung. Musikalisch liegen die Wurzeln von P.toile im Funk und Soul der 70er Jahre und entwickelten sich im Laufe der Jahre über French-House zum Minimal-Techno der Jetztzeit. Ihre Releases auf Labels wie Trenton, Gold und Liebe sowie Channel Records und Gasoline Records richten sich besonders an die erwachsene Community in familiären Clubs, sind mehr Down-Tempo als High-Energy und kombinieren Elemente des Funk mit der ausgefeilten Produktionsweise eines Techniknerds. Schon ihr Debüt, die "Sticklip EP", landete 2004 mit Remixen von Pan/Tone und Frank Martiniq in den Top 50 des Groove Magazins. Aktuell arbeitet sie mit dem Berliner Produzenten Tigerskin an weiteren Veröffentlichungen.
